A multidisciplinary laboratory devoted to research and development of thin-film photovoltaic cells. Photovoltaic power sources are presently at a tipping point. The industry continues to grow at an exponential rate and is now at multi-billion dollar a year levels. Since 1972 the Institute has been at the forefront of photovoltaics research. Our research covers the areas of copper indium diselenide and related alloys, cadmium telluride and silicon solar cells.
