Renewable Energy Development at Department of Defense (DOD) Facilities: Opportunities and Government Contracting Issues

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 1:00pm - 2:30pm EDT
Host: Infocast

With budget cuts looming and a legal requirement that 25% of its electricity demand be met by renewable resources by 2025, the Department of Defense’s (DOD) military branches are developing new private investment opportunities for renewable energy facilities. The U.S. Army estimates that it will need $7.1 billion in private investment in the next 10 years to meet its renewable energy goals, and has established a taskforce to serve as a clearing house for its renewable energy development program. The U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force are also looking for new opportunities to contract with private developers for renewable energy resources.

This webinar provides an overview of the types of programs each branch of the military is looking at, the types of arrangements that might be available for private developers, and the government contracting issues that private developers are likely to face.
